Frequently Asked Questions
When Should I Call Dallas Moving?
If possible, we can move you tomorrow. However, if you would like an in-home written estimate, you should call three to four weeks before your move. This onsite evaluation provides you with an accurate estimate of the costs involved and is offered at no obligation to you.
How long does an in-home estimate take?
Usually no more than 45 minutes to an hour.
What are my responsibilities?
Be present during packing and moving of your belongings, take personal responsibility for jewelry and other high value items, check and sign inventories if one is taken (Inventories are not required for local door-to-door moves) and be present at delivery of items to insure proper placement.
What can I not take?
We cannot transport flammable items, cleaning solvents, gasoline, propane tanks, and ammunition.
Can I pack myself?
Why not? However, be beware of potential problems. Valuation will not cover goods packed by the owner unless the exterior of the box is damaged.
How am I covered in the case of damage?
Your items are covered by valuation. Local, intrastate, and interstate shipments receive coverage of 60 cents per pound per article at no cost to you. You may elect to purchase more valuation coverage by declaring full replacement valuation for your goods. The premiums vary with your type of move.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Local Moves - Cash, Major Credit Card or Personal Check
Intrastate & Interstate Moves - Major Credit Card or Cashier’s Check
Can my employer be billed for my relocation?
Yes, with proper billing information and a letter of authorization from your company.
